I so enjoy to create different costumes for the opportunity to travel in time, plunging into past eras searching for inspiration and interesting ideas. The transformation into a different character through a certain outfit is especially fun. I like to combine fashion of the past with current topics in the same outfits to make it more unique and unconventional. I’m a fan of this costume game. This time I had a journey to 1940s. In 40s a woman’s silhouette repeated a shape of an hourglass and everything from dresses to suits were this shape. An a-line knee length skirt with nipped in waist blouses, shirts, tops or sweaters was a common look of that era. Padded shoulders were also part of the fashion game creating an illusion of a more solid appearance, because it was a WWII period and masculine styles were popular in women’s fashion.
For my outfit I chose cool shades with a few accent spots. A combination of a solid sweater tucked in a knee length suede skirt with a wrapped around men’s style belt gives an outfit a little of a masculine touch. Vinous tights, bandana and lips are the color accents of the entire ensemble.
